Silent reminders
store out from their frames
black and white faces
without any names.
good days and heartaches
all have a place
summer time beaches
a special embrace.
They're all very special
each brings back a time
the times i was happy
the times you were mine
Why couldn't we keep it
the love we enjoyed
if only we'd faced
what you tried to avoid
We knew there were troubles
we pushed them away
you did so much hiding
you had nothing to say
If only we'd faced them
we might have come through
if only we'd realised
if only we knew.
That love is a treasure
too rare to slip by
and if it's worth having
we both have to try.
l treasure my memories
they're well worth the cost
my silent reminders
of what l have lost.
